image468Who are all the people that keep coming here to Stafflí?? I looked at the trafffic statistcs and it is almoust the same number of visitors as when I was writing here. Strange. Who are you? How do you end up here? What are you doing here?

I started a new blog partly because I didn´t like not knowing who was here reading. Can you relate to that? Imagine talking to someone you can´t see.

Happy new year to all you strangers out there!!

I love comments by the way!

When I first entered the internet world
was in 1996
I was home alone that summer
and I enjoyed learning
the HTML-codes
and making homepages.

One of my first homepages
was named "the white cottage"

I lived in the countryside
near the sea
in a little white cottage back then
and internet became
a link for me out
into the big world.

Much has happened
in the internet world
since 1996
The blogs for exampel -
what a wonderful invention!

Here ends my first blog.
Stafflí.
October 26, 2006 - October 26, 2007.

I want to THANK you
for this time together.
I have enjoyed it so much!

Dear Lurkers (there are usually about 20 of you),
Dear known and unknown Friends,

Hope all is fine with you today!

It is late evening again.
I have just payed the bills for this month.
We always do it together Hans and I;
he reads all the numbers to me
and I type it in at the banks homepage.
I like this little ritual we have
doing this together.

Noak is sleaping well.
Tomorrow he and I goes to Toreskog;
my parents place.
We haven´t been there since July.

Above and below are pictures
from when we were at Toreskog
summer last year.

Recykled pictures. Shown before here on Stafflí.

You know, it happens that I go back to posts
I´ve already published
and improve them.
I will most probobly do that with
these very last posts of this blog,
as I wish to leave something nice
behind when I Stafflí ends.

Åke ErikssonSat on the train early this morning... wrote things for my blog. Forgot my big green bag when I returned home late this afternoon. In it were those notes.

I went to deliver a portrait in Växjö wich I´ve worked on for the passed six months. As you can imagine that is nervous to do. But they were happy and they were content with the portrait! Åke Eriksson who I had painted thought that it really was him. He showed me around his town. We had good food. Beautiful weather and a successful day.

Tomorrow I hope to take it reall easy and enjoy the day with my son. This was the first day in our life together when a whole day has passed without being with eachother. He sleaped when I left and when I got back. But we have talked much on phone.

So this was just a quick little note to you dear friends. I am going to bed now.

Good night!

the blancet
Di, my fellow all-sorts-of-liquorice-lover over in Scotland, also a fellow participant of Uschis traveling-journal-project, has just celebrabrated the 100´th post on her blog. she did this by so generously giving away this cosy blancet. And I happened to become that lucky one to receive it. HURRAY!!!! Thankyou sooo much, Di!

in town
Every time we go in to Stockholm
(20 minutes with subway)
we have souch good times!
That is when Hans, my man
is with me.
He knows his ways around.

I enjoy looking at all the beauty
that Stockholm offers
people, buildings, water...

We, and the sunshine
were there yesterday.

afternoon

Was tired today.
Didn´t feel like doing anything.
Tired, probobly because
I had eaten bad
(too much bread and pasta).

But Marjatta and Melinda (neighbours)
were going out in the afternoon
with their children
to pick sour blue berries
with stones inside,
on thorny bushes,
that has the loveliest
white flowers in the springtime.
SLÅNBÄR in Swedish.

So we went along.

Refreshing and calming.

Noak enjoyed the sweet childrens company
and felt very confortable
with Marjatta and Melinda.

So did I!

And what have you been up to?

P.S.
I am thinking of starting a new blog
called STAFETT
that´s Swedish for "relay race"
at another place than at blogg.se
wich I´ve found very userfrienly!

To get a better flow in the content
I thought of always
keep writing about something
that´s been said as a comment.

I have a few other new ideas too...
Do you have any suggestions?
(Thanks Mien for yours the otherday!)

Now I´ve had too few posts
about what´s on my easel
to really live up to the name; stafflí.
Stafett may become a better name.

Also, in my next blog
I shall not be afraid that I am booring you all
by...
den lilla flickan
...showing too much NOAK.

I´ve come to realize
that I just can´t help that!

Gyllehhammars havremust

3 things that Sanna Ehdin
suggests in todays
newspaper (Svenska Dagbladet):

1 Respect your inner voice!
2 Set of time for what you really want!
3 Focus on what gives joy!

Simple and true!

Someone I saw the other day
that I think does this is Béa

(I don´t think Béa would
ever put havremust on
her table though...)

I am getting a little tired of my blog.
Maybe I could do it totally different?

The blog I admire is:
* BEAUTIFUL.
Very, very beautiful images, layout and language.
* PERSONAL. It breathes! It smells!
* WISE. Sharing a bit of wisdom from time to time.
* FRESH. Always fresh and new, like morningdew (not repeeting itself)
* INVITING Welcoming and friendly.
* EASY TO DIG INTO. Even if you come as new to it.
* BRIEF. Not too much text. well OK, that may be optional.
You should be able to understand the message through a few words,
but if you want to know more there could me more text to enjoy...

I am seriously considering
ending STAFFLÍ
in nine days.

Beside these things I´ve mentioned
how I think the good blog
should be...
I also wish for my own blog
to have some sort of a clear purpose.
a mission,
why it´s up at all...

pennanIn ten days
STAFFLÍ will have
been out here
among the blogs
for a year.

(stafflí = easel)

A good and interresting year
it´s been for my easel.

In my second post
here on STAFFLÍ
I wrote:
"Min dröm
och min bön
är att redan nästa år
vara fullt sysselsatt
med porträttmåleriet,
att inte behöva jobba
med något annat... "

Direct translation:
"My dream
and my prayer
is
that already next year
be fully occupied
with the portraitpainting,
to not have to work
with anything else... "

This has happened

wich for me is like
a fairytale!

(If you want, you can see
the portraits I´ve done

this passed year here
www.olgaportrait.com

- among with earlier paintings...)

Marjattas mittens
Marjatta is a friend
and neighbour
with two little boys
slightly older
than Noak.

These little mittens
(that used to be
her olders sons
favourites)
she made from
wool from her
mothers and fathers
farm in Finland.

Noak is the fortunate
inheriter
of these mittens!

P.S.

Here is a picture
again of the
"Dalbymittens"
made by Elsie Thorén, beacause where I wrote about them,
I never posted
a picture
where you could see
them in "full figure"
like here.
(cick to enlarge picture)

Ulla - my mother in law
is that kind of a person
that shows us her love
by making the BEST food
or... like here:
by making PRECIOUS little socks
for her grandson!

Köping

Click on the small images to enlarge.

Here is a glimpse of the older parts
of an ordinary little Swedish town!
Köping.
The town of my mother in law.
(soon she will live in the house
where you can see light in a window
if you look close at the first picture)

Köping is also the town in wich my man grew up.

(Why do I publish this??? See previous post!)

D A N C E !

obrigada!

Came home from Mother in law
last night...
Had been there in Köping
with her
for a couple of days
helping her with some things
that had to be arranged
for her to move
from her big, big house
to an appartment.

We took things down from an addic
that hadn´t been touched
for twentyseven, dusty years...

Found uncle Görans
fourtyfive years old
little, red three wheel bike
that Noak fell in love with.

Found a chair that
Noaks fathers mothers fathers father
used to sit on.
It will be sold on auction...

(It´s too small in our appartment
to have all things I´ld like to have)

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

So we came home from mother in law
last night
to be greated by mail on the floor
inside the door.
An envilope from Portugal.

In it was MUSIC!

Noak put the CD in the stereo
and
he and I danced around
in a very wild and happy dance!

Obrigada minha querida Mary!!

R E M E M B E R

rememberLong ago,
my brothers and I
and our little friend Kristina
often played this game...

We had a yellow tray
wich we filled with lots of
little objects...

We then looked at it
very carefully
trying to memorize every
little thing there was
a key, a feather, a coin
or whatever we may had
put there...

Then all of us, but one,
would close our eyes
as the fourth person
removed one
of the things...

The first one to recall
wich thing was gone,
got to be
the next one
to remove something.

We did this game many times!

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

I have now taken
this lovely...
WHAT DO YOU CALL THIS
RED THING IN ENGLISH?
"box with lid"
that I´ve gotten from
mother in law....

put little objets into it
and I am now waiting
for Noak to become
just a little older...
so that we can
enjoy this together!
